MCM London Comic Con
People of all genders and races meet up twice a year at MCM London Comic Con to show off their favourite fantasy character cosplays
By Aurelie Denieul
London Comic Con happens twice a year at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre, in London. The event attracted over 100,000 visitors from all around the UK in October 2017, and will take place again in May 2019.
Katie Jones, fan of The Last Kingdom series, went to MCM London Comic Con last October. “The event itself was huge. The only negative sides of it for me were how busy it was and the queues for food,” she says.“London Comic Con has an atmosphere indeed! Inside you will see many people cosplaying as their favourite game, series or anime characters, and then hundreds of selling stands with comics and mangas.
Comic Con is also a good place to watch premieres and Q&A panels.” On the day, Katie went to watch a preview screening and panel of The Last Kingdom. “It was great to listen to the cast and writers as they discussed the production process and answered questions - it was especially good to meet some of them afterwards and take photos with them.” Expect all of this and more if you are to attend MCM London Comic Con in the near future, which, if you are a nerd pop culture fan, is an event you definitely can’t miss.
