Game of Thrones will return for its eighth and final season next month. There will be six episodes with a running time of 80 minutes each, much longer than previous seasons’ one hour duration.

The main cast will all return for the final season, but, given the show’s reputation for killing off its characters, we can't be sure who will be left standing at very end.

The cast has dropped hints that fans may be left divided about the ending.

Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), told IGN: “Who knows if it will be satisfying for the fans? I think a lot of fans will be disappointed and a lot of fans will be over the moon.”

Fortunately for fans, though, HBO has confirmed multiple spin-offs from the series, as George RR Martin and four other writers have signed contracts with the broadcaster.
